Acting Dean Iftekhar Hasan

Dr. Iftekhar Hasan is the acting dean of the Lally School of Management & Technology. He is the Cary L. Wellington Professor of Finance and is also director of the International Center for Financial Research, co-director of the Ph.D. program, and area coordinator of accounting and finance.
Dr. Hasan’s research focuses on international banking issues, the economics of stock exchanges, privatizations in emerging markets, and new ventures. In addition to his research contributions to the field, Professor Hasan plays an active role in several research institutions in the U.S. and abroad. He is a scientific advisor at the Central Bank of Finland at Helsinki; a research associate at the Berkley Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the Stern School of Business of NYU; and a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
Dr. Hasan has over 200 publications in print, including 120 articles in highly regarded finance, accounting, economics, and management journals, such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial & Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Business, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Money Credit and Banking, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Intermediation, European Finance Review, Strategic Management Journal, and Research Policy. He is a co-author of several books and edited volumes, including the widely-cited Quantitative Methods for Finance and Investment.
Dr. Hasan has held visiting faculty positions at several European and American universities, including the University of Rome, Robert Schuman University at Strasbourg, EPFL at Lausanne, University of Limoges, Carlos III at Madrid, National Taiwan University, and the Stern School of Business at New York University. He has consulted for the World Bank, the United Nations, the Italian Deposit Insurance Corporation, and a number of other foreign central banks and regulatory authorities.
Dr. Hasan serves as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Financial Stability and also serves as an associate editor in a number of reputed journals such as the Journal of Money Credit and Banking, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and the Journal of International Money and Finance.
