original SCTE Programs

The Severino Center sponsors a variety of community outreach programs related to technological entrepreneurship.

These programs are designed to inform students, faculty, staff and friends of Rensselaer about the possibilities of becoming an entrepreneur and what is involved. Six main areas of focus are listed below.

Women in Entrepreneurship (WIE)

The Severino Center sponsors multiple programs to support the participation of Women in Entrepreneurship.  These include symposia, awards to encourage aspiring young women entrepreneurs, networking opportunities for students and established women entrepreneurs, and tuition fellowships for women for graduate study in management and entrepreneurship.

Severino Interest Group (SIG)

The SIG is a growing university-community collaborative with over 1000 members.  Regular SIG events offer a forum for Rensselaer's young innovators and researchers to meet business leaders and seasoned entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY)

Established in 1990, the William F. Glaser ’53 Rensselaer Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognizes successful entrepreneurs who bring the world of entrepreneurship into Rensselaer’s classrooms and laboratories.

Rensselaer Entrepreneurship Intern Program (REIP)

An intensive internship program designed to assist MBA students in understanding the opportunities and challenges of working in a startup or early stage company.

Idea2Business (I2B)

A business matching event for students.  Idea2Business allows people with great ideas to find business partners, and people seeking great ideas to find technical partners.
