For aspiring entrepreneurs, the technology and research-focused environment at Rensselaer offers unique opportunities to learn from successful mentors in the faculty, alumni and business communities. 

The Severino Center leverages the strengths of Rensselaer by offering a dynamic range of programs for undergraduate and graduate students to personally interact with and learn from experienced entrepreneurs. 

 

Student Sandbox

Located in the Severino Center at the Lally School, The Student Sandbox offers a place for start-up teams to meet, access resources, and use office equipment to advance their business venture. Come and set up shop! 

 

Entrepreneurs' Help Desk

The SCTE maintains a list of friends/coaches/entrepreneurs/alumni who are willing to work with start-up teams.  The SCTE staff are pleased to make these connections for students as the needs arise.  Contact us at SCTE@rpi.edu.

 

Entrepreneurs in Residence

For aspiring entrepreneurs, learning from experienced founders and personal mentoring can make all the difference in achieving success.   To address this need of Rensselaer’s emerging entrepreneurs, the Severino Center hosts Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIRs).

Idea2Business

A networking and business matching event for students, Idea2Business allows people with great ideas to find good business partners, and people seeking great ideas to find good technical partners.

Rensselaer’s Office of E*ntrepreneurship provides leadership and coordination for campus entrepreneurship activities and stages events focused on enhancing the student, faculty and alumni experience.

 

Brown Bag Lunch Series

The Severino Center’s “Brown Baglunch series offers Rensselaer students a glimpse of the life of an entrepreneur—including stages such as developing business plans, protecting intellectual property, negotiation, seeking venture capital seed money, and early stage valuation. This series hosts start-up entrepreneurs as well as corporate entrepreneurs.
