Rensselaer is proud to honor Ms. Jacqueline Novogratz, Founder and CEO of Acumen Fund, as the 2010 Rensselaer Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY). Acumen Fund is a non-profit global venture fund that uses entrepreneurial approaches to solve the problems of global poverty. As recipient of this award, Ms. Novogratz will join other successful entrepreneurs honored in years past such as, Curtis Priem ’82 co-founder of NVIDIA Corp; Thomas LeFevre ‘71, Co-founder, Intuit and Brendan L. McKernan ‘00, Co-founder of Agencourt Biosciences Corp.
This year’s honoree is not only an entrepreneur, but an author of a New York Times best seller. The Blue Sweater is the inspiring personal memoir of a woman who has spent her life on a quest to understand global poverty and to find powerful new ways of tackling it.
