GMAC, the company that administers the GMAT test, is piloting its first online recruiting fair on April 7. The ‘virtual’ format offers not only the benefits of traditional fairs, such as networking, information exchange and Q&A sessions, but also provides applicants with an opportunity to interact with schools in real time via live chat, webcam and VOIP.
Participation in the new fair format, called “GMATCH,” was limited to 24 GMAC member business schools offering MBA and specialized Master’s programs. Lally was chosen to participate from a pool of 77 institutions that applied worldwide. GMATCH participants include schools from Asia, Europe and North America, including Stanford, UVA/Darden, HEC, HKUST, IMD, Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management, ESADE, Thunderbird, and London Business School. GMAC chose the peak internet visit times based on its mba.com website visit behavior data. Around the world, peak internet visit hours are remarkably consistent and usually run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time. Live Representatives will be able to chat with applicants at this 24 hour fair in all global time zones.
The Lally School’s MS FERA and TC&E programs will be featured, and our booth will show the Lally Student video recently produced by Michael Manning, Madhura Deshpande and Jason Doran. Candidates who want to visit the fair can register at www.g-match.com.
